Dear parents of our U-8 Players,

We’ve received calls from the owners of the Westar Storage on E. St. Pat. Next to the upper valley soccer fields regarding parking problems.  Please note that this lot is a private lot with the exception of the 10 or 12 stalls directly next to the fence just east of the soccer fields.  The owners have voiced concern about blocked storage sheds.  They’ve have even put up pylons to try and discourage folks from blocking storage sheds and the pylons get moved and cars parked there anyway.  The weekend is their busy time and they are trying to be good neighbors so they’ve also put pieces of paper under windshields only to find them wadded up and thrown on the ground. The owner told me last week his wife said something to one of the parents leaving and they flipped her off as they sped off.

I find this very troubling, and am asking all of you to please respect our neighbors.  To litter is a criminal offense as is careless or reckless driving.  He has the full option to tow any car in his lot without permission and although he does not want to do that may resort to it.  I know how much it stinks getting stuck in the traffic jam leaving Star of the West lots but please be considerate of our neighbors and remember this is for the kids.  Drive carefully as always in any lot.

We are continually working with the city to remedy the parking issue at Star of the West!
